Why Kidney Transplant Support Was Created

Having received two kidney transplants myself, I have firsthand experience with the difficult obstacles and psychological suffering that accompany kidney illness. The road to a transplant in Pakistan is complicated by both cultural and legal limitations: there is no culture of deceased donors, and only family members may receive transplants. These limitations reduce possibilities and increase the misery of several patients who are unable to locate suitable donors.

The recent approval of swap transplants by PHOTA (Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority) opened a new avenue for patients like us. However, the lack of awareness and accessible platforms to facilitate such exchanges meant that many continued to suffer in silence and wait.
